Check out my fave radio progressive, Stephainie Miller on CNN the other night!

And there we have it: The GOP Plan to win the WOT, via Mark Smith: Let our soldiers die, so we(the accountants and professionals and GOP chickenhawks over here) don’t have to.

Yay! No successful attacks on American soil! Yay! We win! Bush is our hero. Zero terrorist fatalities in the homeland since 9/11. Bush is a genius! (Please ignore the mounting body count of dead and maimed American military personnel, now much higher than the original 9/11 toll. In Bush math, it just doesn’t count. They’re as “off the books” as the multi-billion war budget.)

The MBA president: socializing costs, privatizing profits.

hey, accountants have lots of hazards! Papercuts, of course, leap to mind!

Holy crap does Mark Smith have the most condescending grin I’ve ever seen on another human being! It looks like he was grown in a vat to become a conservative political pundit. He’s in fine form for the Upper Class Twit of the Year competition this year.

Mark Smith is probably profitting off the war in more ways than one. Not only is he a paid corporate PR, he probably owns stock in Halliburton, Blackwater, and big oil and big pharma (yes, the war has resulted in HUGE profits for big pharma).

Behind every grinning right-wing war-party pundit is a secret war-profiteer with visions of above-the-law independent wealth and power.

Wow. Mark Smith is just about the worst person I’ve ever seen. There are no words to adequately describe the extent of his assholery. As much as possible, I try to empathize with people rather than hating them, but lord knows people like him make it hard. Seeing him cavalierly wishing death on untold people–what does it matter to him? HE’S never going to be maimed or killed for cheap political points!–with that smug, shit-eating grin on his face is SO UTTERLY ENRAGING I can barely think straight. He’s a monster, plain and simple. I know that descriptor would apply to a lot of wingnuts, but he really seems like the platonic ideal of self-satisfied right wing evil.

What the hell is a “Constitutional Attorney”? In NJ you could be brought up on ethics charges for making up a fake title like that. It conveys the impression of special training or expertise when there is no standard for determining what that expertise is. All attorneys are “Constituional Attorneys”. Not that I expected an apologist for the Bush Admin. to have any ethics. I notice he doesn’t use the title “Human Being”.

The B.S. title he gave himself inspired me to look this guy up. What alot of horsehit. He’s also a “Former Law Professor”. Even though Prof. Althouse has taken the prestige out of that title, in his case it appears to be a very thin claim. From his site:

Mark is also an academic having worked as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Kansas School of Law teaching a course on “The American Law of Firearms.”

The Kansas School of Law—isn’t that known as the “Regent University of the midwest?” What an appropriate birthplace for the “flypaper strategy.”

Mr. Smith, were you born stupid, or did you take lessons?

Something to say?
