Susie Madrak is enjoying the benefits of a robust free market healthcare system where you, the Consumer, are empowered to make your own choices, such as choosing to forgo life-saving surgery because you don’t have insurance, rather than endure the humiliation of waiting a few weeks for treatment like those socialist sheep in Canada.  However, when confronted with the need for three operations (including one to correct double vision, a serious condition which, if left untreated, can lead to even worse Foreigner albums, such as Head Games, or Unusual Heat), the rugged individualist will get proactive and demonstrate that Can-Do American attitude.  In this case, she’s politely accepting donations, so if you Can, please Do.  Click here for the details and, in Paul Harvey fashion, the rest of the story.

Scott,

Is she with us or agin us?

She was laid-off and is asking for donations to help pay her nearly $500 monthly COBRA health care.

We had a similar situation, but our COBRA payment was $1,200 month. When that expired, the company HAD to give us continued health care, but they would NEVER TELL US what was covered or not covered (Guardian). Luckily (and I do mean Luckily since we had no control) it was good enough to cover $50,000 for my smashed knee. Phew!

I sent $50.

… and ANOTHER thing! See Nancy Pelosi on “The View” today saying there are NO Bush crimes, just differences of Opinion. I’m sending $ to Sheehan.

Susie is One of Us, One of Us…!

In taht case, done and done.

It’s hard at a satirical blog to know if someone’s being tongue in cheek or not, and I’ve been blocked by MIS from investigating much on my own.

Thanks, Scott! I’ll take care of it when I get home.

[...] I’m not crazy about asking for help. (In fact, I’m downright phobic about it.) But thanks to bloggers like Digby, Glenn Greenwald, John Amato, John Cole, Jill Cozzi, Jonathan Schwarz, World O’Crap, funnyfarmer at American Street and everyone else who picked up my original post, I now have the luxury of knowing I have health insurance for several months, despite my recent un-employment. (Unlike so many other people in the same boat.) [...]

Something to say?
