One of my faves- liked him best in ’2010- The Year We Make Contact’ but there were lots of others…

Rest easy, Roy…

But, but…. The “boating accident” line wasn’t Roys, it was Dickie Dreyfuss’s line. How about, “Why do you have to think so small, Audrey” line from “All that Jazz?”

He was a wonderful actor, and I’m sad that he is gone. When I think of him, I remember him in “Jaws” of course, but also as Dustin Hoffman’s older brother in “Marathon Man” – I thought he was great in that.

Blue Thunder, anyone?

Useless trivia: He was an alumni of one of my alma mater’s – Franklin and Marshall College.

My favorite movie is “All That Jazz”

What about “The French Connection”?

You’re gonna need a bigger boat.

Sharks are the jews of liberal oceanographers.

I was just watching Jaws, too.

Man, this sucks. He seemed like a nice guy, and it may be totally inappropriate to say so, but even in recent years he was still damned hot.

Too sad. I love the scene in Jaws where he’s at the supper table, upset about the shark thing, and his little boy is imitating him. It’s one of the most realistic parent/child scenes I’ve ever scene in a movie, adorable without being sacharine. Great actor.

Too many “scenes” in that comment, not enough coffee this morning . . .

He wasn’t a great actor. but always a consistently good actor, and I’ll miss his face and his voice.

His performance in Sorcerer is also excellent, especially the last 10 minutes.

Something to say?
